Week 2 NFL Free Pick Article

By Adam Barone—The Bears should have an easy time covering the 12.5 points they’re favored by against the Chiefs this weekend at Soldier Field.
Both teams are 0-1 coming in, both putting a sad “3” spot on the score board last weekend.

The Bears shut down L.T. in San Diego, allowing just 25 yards on 17 carries. The Chargers broke through the fantastic Bears’ defense toward the end of the game and easily outscored Chicago’s single field goal. Philip Rivers had mild success throwing against Chicago, completing 22 of 31 passes for 190 yards.
Kansas City played in Houston as Matt Schaub made his first start at quarterback for the Texans.

Schaub tore through the Chiefs’ pass defense, accumulating 225 yards on only 22 pass attempts.

Chiefs RB Larry Johnson had only 10 carries for a disappointing 43 yards. Those low totals suggest that he’s not at full strength after missing the entire pre-season. The Chiefs’ performed unimpressively, letting Texans’ WR Andre Johnson torch them for 142 yards receiving.
Expect more of the same from both teams, as the Bears will come out fired up and ready to go in their home opener. The Chiefs’ offensive line won’t be able to handle Tommie Harris and the rest of the Bears’ D, which will likely result in turnovers.

After their slow performance last week in San Diego, including a terrible rushing attack, it’s tough to see the Bears finding a way to score enough points to win by 13, even against a much softer D. Both teams should have trouble establishing a running game. Neither team will have an easy road to the end zone, simply because they’ll beat themselves with mistakes. This will make for some sloppy football. Take a look at the under in this game as well.
