Week 10 NFL Free Pick Article

Adam Barone—Last week the Pats decided to tease us and not cover that 5.5 points. Personally, I blame the fake crowd noise. Yeah, CBS did it--whatever. Still, bet on the Pats every week and maybe you can buy yourself a yacht at the end of the season.

This week your mom told me to bet on the Browns. I always listen to your mom. You should too. She knows how sexy Jamal Lewis’ 4 TDs were last week on a measly 37 rushing yards.

The Browns are on the rise big time, and just because the Steelers were able to pound an overrated, poopy Ravens team, it doesn’t mean that they’re unstoppable. After all, they lost to Denver and Arizona. Yeah, I said Denver and Arizona. The Browns pounded the Ravens while at home too, winning 27-13 in week four in a game that didn’t even look as close as the score does.

QB Derek Anderson, WR Braylon Edwards and TE Kellen Winslow have been fantastic this season, leading the Browns to the no. 7 ranked passing attack in the NFL. The Browns are 6-2 ATS this season, 2-1 on the road, failing to cover at—that’s right—New England. They’re good. Yacht, baby.

What was the other game that the Browns failed to cover the spread in, you ask? Ah, yes, that would be Week 1 against Pittsburgh. Charlie Frye was the Browns’ starter at quarterback in that game, getting benched after going 4-10 for 34 yards with an interception. Current starter Derek Anderson came in, wearing a cape and his underwear over his pants, and threw for 184 yards and a score. Anderson hasn’t looked back since. Seriously, check your fantasy football QB rankings.

The Browns haven’t been this confident since they magically reappeared after we’d all been dooped into thinking they’d moved to Baltimore. They’ve lost eight in a row and 14 of 15 to Pittsburgh. They’ve got this game circled on their schedule in cheesy, dramatic red marker. This isn’t to suggest that they’ll win the game, but with the Stillers coming in on short rest after an extremely physical game against the Ravens on Monday night, it certainly won’t be a cake walk.

P.S., rain is in the forecast for Sunday in Pittsburgh, which could suggest a lower score and a closer, sloppier game.
