2007 NFL Schedule

The schedule for the 2007 NFL regular season can be viewed here. Here are some interesting facts to consider when viewing the schedule.

There is a formula that the NFL uses to make a schedule each season; the scheduled is formatted as follows until the 2009 season ends. The formula is as follows:

- Every team within each division plays 16 games.

- Home and away games are played against their three division opponents, totaling 6 games.

- There are four teams from another division that are rotating on a three year cycle within its conference, totaling 4 games.

- There are four teams from another division that play on a rotating four-year cycle, totaling 4 games.

- The last two inter-conference games are based on the prior year’s last standings totaling 2 games. The games are matched against a first place team and the first place team in a two same conference division team. This is not scheduled to play in that season. The same cycle is matched for second, third, and fourth placed teams each year.

The formula makes each team play through a cycle of games, home and away, against every other team in the league. Every team will play every other team at least twice, once home and once away. The schedule started in 2002 and will end in 2009. After the 2009 season, the NFL will make changes or modify the formula if needed.
